Plume is designed to maintain the highest level of security to keep your information private and secure in the cloud.
- Plume uses the strongest Wi-Fi encryption available, WPA2, which is standardized and certified by IEEE (a leader in networking standards) and Wi-Fi Alliance. Long, constantly changing encryption keys keep the hackers at bay and keep your connections safe. The encrypted data is decoded through your personal Wi-Fi password you give your home network through the Plume App. We will recommend a Wi-Fi password that is strong and secure although you have the option to create your own password.
- All communications between the Plume App and our Pods are encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security). The encryption is based on the same standard you use for mobile banking, or online payment transactions, so it’s tested and verified millions of times a day.
- Plume software updates provide you with the most up-to-date features and performance, and we manage them automatically for you with our system. TLS encryption, when transferring new firmware and an additional firmware verification check after delivery to the Plume Pod, prevent malware introduction anywhere along the way.
